Bridezillas Television Show a Comedy of Stupid

With running around at the fair, my hours got a little out of whack. The regular garbage I would have watched was over by the time I was ready to relax so I did some channel surfing.

I can across a very strange show on the WE-TV channel called Bridezillas.

The premise of this reality show is simple. Producers find egotistic, self-centered, ultra-narcissistic women about to be married and follow them around for a while as the women make themselves look like disgusting human beings. I guess this show has been on for several years. Due to good fortune, I didn't run across it until this week.

In just a few days of stopping by here and there, I was able to see all of this season's shows I believe as it looks like there are maybe six or eight total. WE-TV just continues to show them over and over so I assume they have little programming choices right now.

They have Golden Girls from decades ago, and some show about great wedding cakes which sounds as exciting as watching a show about Sloppy Joes.

It looks like this network decided to go on the air and then decided they might need to have something to put on the airwaves in order to not be just a test pattern. So far, a test pattern holds more interest and it looks like they are hanging their hat on this one show detailing how poorly human behavior can be. It also brings together a whole lot of stupid.

Now I am no spring chicken. I don't profess to be, but so far none of these tantrum throwing brides-to-be have anything in the looks department. You would think that at least they should be something to behold if they are going to make a man miserable for the rest of his life and they sure look poised to do this to their husbands.

Most of them look like they served a year in prison at a Ho-Ho and Ding Dong factory and why they can get away with treating their fiances like dirt is beyond logic. So chalk the men in this show up as being stupid enough to be embarrassed on television and to go through with a marriage to these monsters.

A few of the most amazing things I saw these women do are so bizarre, you would have to ponder why they think their being on television was anything but an embarrassment to themselves and how disgusting they are.

One woman slammed down a wedding cake she didn't like and threw flowers on the ground as well. Both those businesses should have just walked away. There is no need to offer services to people like that so chalk the businesses up as being stupid too.

In another vignette, a woman had a hissy fit because here poor, hard working fiance wouldn't let her buy a $30,000 engagement ring. When she asked him, "Are you saying I'm not worth $30,000?" he should have come back with, "Only if we are figuring how much you are worth by the pound."

There were several more bizarre antics by these women including kicking a sister out of the wedding, trying to get rid of the best man, and trying to run someone off the road and then calling police on the poor man who was the only thinking person in the entire show.

In all cases, the women kept saying the wedding was about them and them only as they all decided that they didn't care how much they spent just so they could have everything their way.

In one case, the woman got so drunk she missed her own $30,000 reception. She wins the "Queen Stupid" award but they all place second close behind her. Anyone who thinks being on television and showing the world what a jerk you are deserves to go on the stupid list.

There is one more group of stupid people involved with this show and they are the sponsors. Just how much value do they think a show has that has been on over and over again on the same day? Their ads also associate themselves with this type of programming so we can add them to the stupid list as well.

Oh, and since WE-TV says this is their hit show, we can add one more group of people to the stupid list: we who have wasted a moment in our lives watching this slop.

I must admit that I have watched this show many times. I keep waiting for the groom-to-be to grow a pair and call the whole thing off, but it seems highly unlikely.

Thanks Ken. We all have some dumb show we shouldn't watch in our shows we watch. Me it is really bad movies from the forties.
And yes I would love to see one of these guys tell them to jump and walk out.

I guess some people think being on TV is good, no matter what the reason. I can't watch shows like this either, because I can't get in there and tell the woman off. :)

Yep Jean. I often would love to be there and just nail these people verbally as to how idiotic they look.

Bridezillas show is one of a kind. I just can't understand why this men still wants to walk down the aisle with "Queen Kong" after the way they were treated. As stupid as it is, these are the type of reality show that some people like to watch and the type of show that bring home the bacon.

MJ, that's exactly what I was thinking a few days ago. I've only seen the commercials for the show not show. How can someone in their sound mind want to marry a woman who behaves this way . . . "til death do us part." Or maybe it's just until. Until you treat me that way and I'm outta here!

You are right M.J. The only reason these types of shows are on is because people like to see emotional trainwrecks. Much like a fire or a car accident.

Mike, I agree with you. The title says it all! And your last sentence. *grinning*

Thanks Avis. Yep, we get what we deserve. If we demanded better, they would have to give it to us. But we don't.

I accidentally stumbled onto this show. I had a massive migraine after watching 2 episodes. I have to believe that this show is scripted like WWF and that these are just actors. To think otherwise would be frightening knowing that I could actually come into contact with such low life-forms!!
